Case-study

Case-studies provide the students with a systemic way of looking at various aspects of management: best practices, dependencies, causes and effects, solutions, approaches, and fallacies, etc., after which they gain a sharpened understanding of why certain instances happened as they did, and what was done in response to such events.

Every HSM MBA student is required to undertake case-study analysis in the area of his/her specialization. The exercise involves clearly bringing forth the history, problem area, the solution identified, approach adopted, alternatives suggested, best practices and special attributes – if any. This allows the students to read and reflect on the case and discuss their findings within the class, during which they not only analyse a scenario but they also make decisions about how they would react if they encountered a particular situation in the business world.
